Bells on Temple Square

what a better way to bring in the new holiday season than the bells at temple square! PLUS, the mother use to play bells so she was in heaven. i'd say that is was overall pretty dang cool.

happy holidays!

there are monsters in the closet!

i know i married the perfect man when i sent a text asking if we can have monster pillows on our couch and he immediately said yes. he's the greatest! we went to Walmart and got the fabric and probably only spend like $15 on the whole project for 5 pillows! LOVE THAT! the husband made the patterns then i did the rest, well except for the sewing of course. don't get me wrong, i can sew, but when you have a super cool little helper of a little sister that loves to sew, why would you take away that joy? anywho, here are the pillows:

annie has serious skills

right now we only have three of our special friends because annie is going to teach me out to correctly sew the bottom of them. gotta learn for the future right?

halloween

so my work is awesome and this is what we do on halloween:

our department dressed up like pacman (costumes and decorations included)

did i feel like i was a kid again? yes. was it amazing and the best halloween in years? yes it was.

did we have a parade at lunch with our whole company over over 200 adults all dressed up. i will neither confirm nor deny that. but...yes, yes that happened.

then halloween night we got to carve pumpkins! i have missed that for the last two years!

such a stud diggin' the gunk out my pumpkin

i carved him, he carved a storm trooper. :) seems about right.

finally!

my babies are home! we have been working on this project for months at my parents house (no room in a baby apartment), and i think it turned out great!

we started out with mismatched chairs and a cherry wood and black table

sanding was an adventure

then for the painting. all different colors of course

almost there!

they look great! yes, the red chair isn't quite done yet. it had a crack in it so we had to glue it back together first. now it's cold outside so we have to find a good time to paint it. but we have been able to upgrade from eating off our ironing board to our wonderful table!

we love our mismatched dining set!
